No account, ever. Optional iCloud sync runs through your own iCloud — never a server of mine. The free tier shows ads via Google AdMob; your dates and habits are never shared with advertisers, and Simpliday Pro is fully ad-free.
Your events, habits, groups, and settings are stored locally on your device. Simpliday has no account system and no server of its own — the only copy of your data is the one on your device (and, if you turn it on, your private iCloud).
iCloud sync is optional and on by default. When enabled, your countdowns and habits sync across your devices through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit — the data never passes through any server I control, and I have no access to it. Turn it off any time in Settings → iCloud Sync, and everything stays on-device only.
Simpliday makes network requests in only two cases: iCloud sync (to Apple, when you enable it) and serving ads on the free tier (see below). There is no custom analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry about how you use the app. Apart from these, your events, habits, and settings are never transmitted anywhere.
The free tier of Simpliday shows ads through Google AdMob. As declared on Simpliday’s App Store privacy label, two types of data are collected through the app, both for advertising:
Google’s ad SDK collects this data to serve ads. As reflected on the App Store label, it is used for third-party advertising, may be linked to your identity, and — when you grant tracking permission — may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. Google acts as an independent controller of this data under Google’s Privacy Policy.
Simpliday itself does not read or store this data, and your countdowns, habits, and personal dates are never shared with Google or any advertiser.
App Tracking Transparency. Before any tracking, iOS asks for your permission. If you allow it, ads may be personalized using your advertising identifier. If you decline, you still see ads, but non-personalized ones — based on context rather than your identifier.
Consent where required. In regions with consent laws (such as the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), you are shown a consent prompt and your choices are applied before ads load.
Simpliday Pro removes ads entirely. When Pro is active the ad SDK is not initialized and makes no ad requests.
See Your Privacy Choices for step-by-step opt-out instructions.
Simpliday is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ad requests are configured as non–child-directed. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact me and I will address it.
You can export backup files (.simplibackup) and QR codes for individual events. These are user-initiated actions. The files and codes are encrypted with AES-256 and only sent to destinations you choose (AirDrop, Messages, etc.).
I may update this policy as Simpliday evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised policy.
